Sorry I havent updated this recently. I've been incredibly busy and my game has been playing up a lot. I'll have to come back to this later.

Getting better again.

Katie didn't feel very well when she woke up in the morning. She is usually a happy person who doesn't let anything get to her but she was starting to wonder if moving to Riverview was a good idea after all. She liked having a place of her own but she didn't have to move out of the town as well. "I knew nearly everyone there and I was happy."

But then she remembered; she didn't have much independence because she lived with her parents who wanted to know everything, her job wasn't going anywhere and then there was all the memories of her 4 year relationship and the way it ended...

Work was rather uneventful and a bit boring Katie had to admit. That is until the end of the day. "I've only been here a week and I've been promoted AGAIN?? I know I'm good but I didn't think I was that good" she said to her boss. "You wouldn't have been given it if we didn't think you deserved it" was her bosses reply. "Keep it up and you'll be editor in no time" Katie bounced out of the office and carried on bouncing all the way home.

A letter was waiting for her when she got home. After opening it she saw it was an invitation to Walter Grisbys party that evening. "How different could today and yesterday be?" Katie thought, excitably. Then she noticed the dress code- Formal Dress. Because she has just moved Katie didn't have a lot of clothes at the moment. At her parents house she had so many clothes they started to take over the spare room as well as her own!  Her mum had persuaded Katie to leave some behind so she could get them when she had enough space. After hunting out something she thought would be formal enough (the Grisby house was in a posh neighbourhood) Katie only just had time to quickly grab something to eat and and have a quick shower before the party started.

There were quite a few people already at the party when Katie arrived, some she knew, some she didn't. After talking to a few people she already knew, she decided to make some new friends. She mingled and chatted away for most of the night, ending up talking to George Dean. They seemed to click straight away and talked about so much for the rest of the night. The only down side was once again he was already taken. "I like George and I think we're going to be good friends" thought Katie as she listened to George chatting away. "But I want a boyfriend, not just another best friend. Are there any single men in Riverview at all?" But this time she wasn't sad at the thought and when she finally got home she fell into a happy sleep.

Sad, lonely day.

"That was only meant to be a five minute shower, how did I spend so long in there" Katie muttered crossly to herself as she rushed to get ready for work. "I was promoted yesterday and I'm late today. Great way to show I was right for the new job." Running into the building she ran round a corner and into her new boss. "No need to run, you're only a few minutes late." her boss smiled at a red faced Katie. "Get yourself sorted out and come and see me in my office. I've got something I want you to try to do for me." Katie scuttled into the nearest bathroom to clean up and then went to find her bosses office.  She emerged fifteen minutes later with a big smile on her face. Not surprising as she had just been asked to watch television for eight hours as work! "Why couldn't I ever get homework like this at school?" Katie wondered as she slipped behind her new desk, ready to start work.

As she was leaving work, Katie saw Angel across the road so she went over to say hello. They had a nice time talking last time and she thought he was a nice guy. She carried on thinking that for a while, right up until he mentioned his wife. "Oh poo." She thought, sadly. "He isn't wearing a ring so I thought my luck with men had changed." After Katie and Angel said their goodbyes, Katies phone rang. It was one of the people she met the night before at the Juice Bar. The phone call cheered her up at bit and also gave her a good idea for the next part of her book.

Seeing as the library was only a few minutes walk away, she decided to go straight there. Settling herself at one of the computer tables Katie started to type. "It will be so much easier to do this when I've got a computer at home" she said to herself, mainly because there was only a handful of people there with her. "If I carry on spending so much time in here I'll end up with no social life at all."  Katie got so involved in her writing she didn't notice the time passing and it was dark when she looked out the window again. She packed her things away and decided to walk home for a change. "At least this way I'm might get to talk to someone" she sadly said to herself.

Good news again

Got up, had breakfast, had a shower, got dressed. "This is starting to get a bit boring" sighed Katie who was the kind of person who got bored easily. "I'll go out after work and try to meet some more people. Maybe I'll have a house warming party at the weekend." That thought cheered her up a bit as she dragged herself to the car.

She mentioned the party idea to her colleagues during the day and they all said that it sounded like a good idea. Feeling a bit better again she worked a bit harder for the rest of the day. At the end of the day her boss asked to see her before she went home. "I'VE BEEN PROMOTED!" Katie shouted to everyone who was in the street. "I'm definitely having the party now. First I sell some chapters of my book and now I get promoted.!" She remembered she was going to go out after work but the sensible part of her kicked in and she went shopping for some more things to add to her 'house'. She decided on getting a sofa, more walls and a door. She was told it would be ready and waiting for her when she got home so she could go out and celebrate.
After asking a few people in town where she should go, Katie headed to the Juice Bar. There were only a few people there when she first arrived but it soon filled up. Yet again she chatted the night away!

When she got home Katie was tired but happy, a complete change to how she felt that morning. She got out of the taxi and stopped dead in the street. She had enjoyed herself so much at the Juice Bar that she had forgotten about blowing her bonus in the shop before. "All I need now is one more wall, a roof, windows, wallpaper and a carpet and I'm sorted" she grinned. Before dragging herself to bed she made a snack but didn't get around to eating it...

How embarrassing!

Another day at the office...

"I didn't realise mum did so much before," Katie thought to herself when she got up in the morning. "The cooking, cleaning, washing... I was incredibly lucky. I must remember to pay the bills as well." After rushing around, trying to get everything done, she only just got to work on time. "Thank goodness I'm fairly fit and I enjoy my job so much" Katie puffed as she ran from the car into the building.

For some reason Katie found work rather stressful today. "I'm only a paper girl, how can my job get stressful?!" Katie grumbled. She wanted to go to the spa to help de-stress but she wouldn't be able to afford to do that for a while so she went to the library instead. Writing always calmed her down and she had a small idea for a sci-fi book so she made a start on that. Angel Lobos was sitting at a computer when Katie arrived at the library. After saying hello, they chatted on and off while Katie worked.

She was on a roll so Katie managed to write a good couple of chapters of 'Warp Factor Infinity'. Feeling pretty good about herself she found a couple of  publishers online and sent the chapters to them and carried on writing. Not that long afterwards she got an answer from one of the publishers. "THEY WANT TO PUBLISH MY BOOK!!" jumping up and yelling, totally forgetting she was in the middle of a library.

Deciding she deserved a 'well done' for doing well with her book she went to Hogans Diner to eat that night. "What a big spender I am(!)" she thought.

Katies second day

As soon as Katie woke up she jumped out of bed. She was starting her new job today and she was very very excited. "Today I'm a paper girl. Tomorrow, who knows" she thought as she jumped around the dining table. "Hopefully I'll earn enough so I can actually have 4 walls and a roof by the end of the week!"

She quickly got into her uniform and tried to eat breakfast but it felt as though she had half a dozen snakes and butterflies in her stomach. She finally managed to eat a bowl of cereal before her lift to work arrived.

She stepped out of the car and stared. The building was so much bigger than she expected and for a few minutes Katie was rooted to the spot. She very rarely felt nervous but this was one of those times. After taking a deep breath she marched in. Most of the day was spent finding her way around and meeting everyone. Katie is the kind of person who hates not knowing people and by the time she went on her lunch break she already knew everyone in the building.

After work Katie thought she'd treat herself with her first pay check. "You only get your first one once. All the others can go towards the house" she told herself as she decided on a shower and TV. When she got home she noticed one of her neighbours outside so she went over to introduce herself.

Once again they chatted and chatted for a long time. "Everyone in Riverview have been so nice" Kate said to herself as she walked back across the road. "I defiantly made the right choice moving here."

Katies first day in Riverview.

After saying goodbye to her parents, Katie Anderson suddenly felt very grown up. With a bounce in her step she headed to Riverview to find somewhere to live. Almost straight away she came across 345 Riverblossom Hills Drive. "Its perfect, I love it" she thought. She knew she wouldn't be able to have much in the way of furniture or even walls, but as soon as she got some money together she would be able to build her dream house.Katie brought as much as she could with the little money she had after buying the plot of land. "I'll soon make it a home," she said positively.

Wanting to hit the ground running, Katie went to the local library to do a job search. Her dream job was in journalism, preferably a news anchor on the TV. After only looking for a few minutes she couldn't believe her eyes. A job in journalism was staring her in the face. O.K, she would have to start as the bottom as a paper girl but she knew she'd have to do that. Happy that she found a job straight away Katie thought she had better brush up on her writing skills.

After typing for so long her fingers began to stiffen up Katie remembered that Riverview had an art gallery. A walk through two would be just what she needed after being in a stuffy room for so long. "This place is amazing" Katie breathed as she walked into the gallery. She was so immersed in the wonderful pieces around her she actually bumped into Ruby Broke. After the two stopped apologising to each other they got chatting. They chatted and chatted and chatted for so long that they had to be told to leave the gallery so it could close!

By the time Katie got back home she only had time for a quick salad before falling into bed. "What a fantastic start to my new life" she thought happily as she quickly fell asleep
