"That was only meant to be a five minute shower, how did I spend so long in there" Katie muttered crossly to herself as she rushed to get ready for work. "I was promoted yesterday and I'm late today. Great way to show I was right for the new job." Running into the building she ran round a corner and into her new boss. "No need to run, you're only a few minutes late." her boss smiled at a red faced Katie. "Get yourself sorted out and come and see me in my office. I've got something I want you to try to do for me." Katie scuttled into the nearest bathroom to clean up and then went to find her bosses office. She emerged fifteen minutes later with a big smile on her face. Not surprising as she had just been asked to watch television for eight hours as work! "Why couldn't I ever get homework like this at school?" Katie wondered as she slipped behind her new desk, ready to start work.
As she was leaving work, Katie saw Angel across the road so she went over to say hello. They had a nice time talking last time and she thought he was a nice guy. She carried on thinking that for a while, right up until he mentioned his wife. "Oh poo." She thought, sadly. "He isn't wearing a ring so I thought my luck with men had changed." After Katie and Angel said their goodbyes, Katies phone rang. It was one of the people she met the night before at the Juice Bar. The phone call cheered her up at bit and also gave her a good idea for the next part of her book.
Seeing as the library was only a few minutes walk away, she decided to go straight there. Settling herself at one of the computer tables Katie started to type. "It will be so much easier to do this when I've got a computer at home" she said to herself, mainly because there was only a handful of people there with her. "If I carry on spending so much time in here I'll end up with no social life at all." Katie got so involved in her writing she didn't notice the time passing and it was dark when she looked out the window again. She packed her things away and decided to walk home for a change. "At least this way I'm might get to talk to someone" she sadly said to herself.
